Supporting Logan Families Through Winter Giving

Logan serves many families. Some in our community are facing significant financial hardship. We have families that struggle with food insecurity, housing instability, and lack of access to items like clothing, school supplies, and toys. We are planning to support those families in need through our Winter Giving Campaign. During this campaign, we are asking for warm winter gear, clothes, gifts for the holiday season, and gift cards. Items are listed on an Amazon wish list which can be found here. You can learn more about our Winter Giving Campaign by clicking this link. 

Thank you to Logan’s Social Worker, Maia Gleason-Teener for organizing these supports and thank you in advance to the Logan community for your generosity. 

Supporting Title 1 Schools Through Winter Giving - More Ways to Give! 

In addition to supporting Logan families through a winter giving campaign (see above), Logan’s PTSO has organized a winter giving campaign to support other schools in need as well. We want to ensure that ALL AAPS children are supported this year. You can learn more about the items we’re collecting here. 

Picture Retakes

Picture retakes will take place on Friday, December 1. Here is the direct link to order pictures prior to retake picture day. We will also have paper copies available in the office. Please contact the office if you’d like a paper copy. 

Lost and Found (With Photo)

Our lost and found is overflowing! If you see an item that belongs to your child, please send them to pick it up or feel free to stop by before school or after school to grab it. Items not claimed by December 15 will be donated.

Share Table at Logan

We're excited to introduce our new "share table" initiative in the school cafeteria, where students can share unopened snacks and lunch items. Students will be permitted to come get a snack from the share table during the day when needed. We hope this will reduce food waste, provide snacks for students who don’t have, and foster a sense of community here at Logan. Please speak with your kids about the share table and discuss whether or not you’re comfortable allowing them to leave items on the table. Some families will prefer to have students bring uneaten lunch items home while others will be okay allowing their children to donate unopened items. Your support and participation are greatly appreciated in making our school environment more caring and eco-conscious.

Here in the Ann Arbor community, there are many supports available to families in need ( meals, gifts, clothing, and more). AAPS has consolidated the various supports on their webpage and those resources can be found here.

All AAPS schools are closed on Tuesday, November 7 for Election Day. There will be no school and families should plan accordingly.

As we are headed into the Winter season, which also may be known as cold/flu/COVID season, the Ann Arbor Public Schools (AAPS) is looking for substitute teachers and paraeducators to support our classrooms.  If you are a passionate person who enjoys connection with students EduStaff is looking for you.  Substitute positions are necessary and meaningful work that enriches the lives of students in our community. We're incredibly thankful for the generosity of our community. Beats and Treats

Logan will host our annual Beats and Treats event on Friday, October 27, 2023, 6:00pm-8:00pm. Join us for great family fun! All games & dancing are FREE! Costumes welcome, but not required This is an ALL OUTDOOR EVENT. We still need about 50 volunteers on this day! You can volunteer by going to https://tinyurl.com/BeatsTreats23

Gretchen’s House Parking Lot Reminder

Logan families are not permitted to park in the Gretchen’s House parking lot unless you have a student enrolled in their day care, preschool, or school age childcare programs. Please be advised that Gretchen’s House will tow vehicles that are parked illegally in their lot. Logan families are welcome to park in our parking lot or to use street parking along Traver Blvd. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
