“New Logan” Community Engagement Day

Many in the Logan Community may have heard that we are in the midst of designing a new school building. Construction is still a couple years away, but the design process began last Spring with several staff engagements. This fall, we are engaging the students and families in our school community to gather input for the construction of the new building. On September 28, we will host a Community Engagement Day. Groups of students will have the opportunity to meet with the architects and design team throughout the day (schedule to be determined). Additionally, parents and family members are invited to attend two different engagement opportunities. We will host a Coffee and Conversations event in the cafeteria in the morning immediately after drop off. We will also host a Town Hall style gathering in the evening from 6:00pm until 7:30pm. Both of these events will provide opportunities to learn about the design process and to provide input to the design team. We hope you can join us for one or both events!

Breakfast Procedures

I wanted to send a reminder that breakfast is available for all students every morning and that breakfast is free for all students. Students getting breakfast can enter the building at 8:30am and go directly to the cafeteria. Students who ride a bus can go directly to the cafeteria as soon as their bus arrives to get breakfast as well.

Dear Logan Families,

I hope you have had a great long weekend. We had a fantastic first week back at school, and we’re looking forward to welcoming your kids back to school for week two! On Thursday, we hosted our welcome back assembly. As is our tradition, we greeted the students in the many languages spoken in our community including Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Russian, Italian, French, German, Spanish, and American Sign Language. After our greeting, I read a book to the students and each staff member introduced themselves to the kids. We concluded our assembly with our annual flag raising ceremony led by two fifth graders.
