Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
First, thanks to everyone for your patience as you move through our arrival and dismissal lines. You are all doing a great job! You can read a detailed explanation of arrival and drop off in our Family Handbook found here. I’m sharing a few really important reminders based on our observations of the process so far below. Following these guidelines will help ensure a safe arrival and dismissal from school for all of our Logan Leopards.
Please pull all the way forward to the end of the driveway during arrival and dismissal. There is a sign at the bottom of the driveway telling you where to stop. During dismissal, we will send your kids down the hill to meet you. This keeps our car line from backing up onto Traver Blvd and Nixon.
Do not leave your car if you’re in the pick up or drop off line. If you want to walk your child to class, or if you need to get out of the car to help your child get buckled, please park in the parking lot or in the street instead. Be prepared to keep moving in the pick up line.
All children should load on the passenger side of your vehicle.
When walking to and from the parking lot, please cross at the crosswalk. Do not cut between cars when walking through the parking lot. It is both unsafe and slows down our car line.
Student Device Deployment - Device Contract
We have distributed Chromebooks to all 2-5 grade students. We’ll distribute Y5-1 grade devices as soon as they are delivered to Logan. All students will be receiving a Chromebook. We are asking all families to sign the AAPS Device Contract. You can find the link to the contract here. Devices will travel between school and home regularly. We ask that you charge your student’s device every night and help them remember to send it back to school.
Zoom Licenses
Zoom has a new security feature that will impact all families. When attending a virtual meeting at school (PTO meeting, special ed team meeting, parent conferences, etc), parents will need to navigate this security feature. You will only be able to access the meeting if you have a zoom license or log in from your child’s Chromebook and AAPS user account. In order to ensure that you are able to log into meetings, we encourage families who do not currently have a Zoom account to 1) create a free Zoom account to access meetings more seamlessly, or 2) use your child's Chromebook and AAPS user account whenever attending meetings.
***Parents will need to do one of these two options to attend curriculum night. If you already have a Zoom account, you may login to your existing account prior to joining Curriculum Night Sessions.
Lunch Volunteers Needed
Lunch is one of our busiest times of day, and our COVID-19 safety measures add an extra layer of complexity. Having a large number of volunteers really helps lunchtime run smoothly. Thank you to our PTO for putting out a volunteer sign up. If you are available to volunteer in the lunchroom, we would love to have you. Volunteers must be fully vaccinated (two weeks from your second shot of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or two weeks from your single dose of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine), and all volunteers must wear a mask at all times. Please consider signing up!

Curriculum Night - Save the Date
Curriculum Night will be on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, 6:00pm-7:30pm. Save the date! This event will be a virtual event and it will take place via Zoom. We’ll share the zoom links to classroom presentations later this week.
