Families will have time to learn about our programs at Logan while children get to spend time in our classrooms wit.Logan’s incredible staff.  If you plan to enroll a child in either Young 5s or Kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school-year, we hope to see you there! Please help us spread the word about the new date if you know any families planning to attend Logan next year.

2025 LaFontaine Teacher of the Year Nominations

The Teacher of the Year Program recognizes the great contribution teachers make in Washtenaw County and to the learning community.  This award recognizes and honors teacher experience.  It does not attempt to select the "best" teacher; but rather, to identify, from among many outstanding teachers, one teacher to serve as a visible and vocal representative of what is best in the profession.

The LaFontaine family wishes to honor the amazing teachers within Washtenaw County and recognize them for their hard work and efforts they put in every single school year. The Teacher of the Year will receive a $5,000 cash award toward classroom expenses or continuing education; the second-place winner (Distinguished Teacher) will receive a $1,000 cash award towards classroom expenses and the third-place winner (Commendable Teacher) will receive a $500 cash award towards classrooms expenses.

If you’d like to nominate a Logan teacher, please submit nominations for the 2025 LaFontaine Teacher of the Year Award by completing this form by THURSDAY, MARCH 20, 2025

New Logan Elementary School News - February 2025

2025 is going to be an exciting year around Ann Arbor Public Schools! Site preparations will begin, in advance of the groundbreaking, for the new Logan Elementary School on the Clague Middle School campus. Activity will be visible on the Clague campus soon. The construction manager, The Christman Company, will begin site preparations in March and physical barriers (site fencing) will be installed in addition to site work and site clearing. Please see the Spring 2025 site plan.

Please note: Construction parking and construction access drives are for construction personnel only and to ensure safety, staff and parents should refrain from using construction parking and/or drives.

Emails will continue to be sent, to provide updates on campus activities. A date for the new Logan Elementary School groundbreaking will be announced soon, stay tuned!

AAPS Capital Program’s objective is to transform the student learning experience with the goal of providing for the health, safety, and well-being of all students in high-quality, equitable, and environmentally sustainable schools.

Logan’s Office Needs Pants and Leggings

We are running low on extra pants and leggings in the office. If your kids have pants they’ve outgrown, consider donating to Logan. We are looking for sizes 5-16. Please do not send jeans or other structured pants. Sweatpants and leggings work best. Thanks in advance!

March 2025 Community Resources

Nutrislice AAPS Menu Platform Disabled

AAPS, working closely with the local Chartwells K12 Food Service, has disabled the Nutrislice menu platform due to errors in nutritional information caused by an upgrade to the platform. Rather than display incorrect nutritional information on the Nutrislice platform, AAPS and the local Chartwells team have decided to post weekly PDFs of the menus until the Nutrislice platform is fixed. You can review the menus for next week here.

We know nutritional information is vital to many of our students' dietary needs, so Chartwells Registered Dietitian Sarah Mason has been working closely with district nurses to ensure the nutritional information is updated weekly. If you have urgent concerns, please contact Sarah Mason at masons@aaps.k12.mi.us or 734-460-1994.
