Bus Route Suspension Continuation - ALL FAMILIES - PLEASE READ

Bus 76 (AM and PM) and Bus 148 (AM and PM) will continue to be suspended next week. As you know, this means a much busier parking lot. We REALLY need everyone’s cooperation during dismissal. We have made a few observations that are concerning. To address these concerns, please consider the following:

  1. Either wait in the pickup line or park and proceed to the designated pick up areas (lower el playground or the walkway leading to the upper el playground). Our staff will only be able to enter your Driveline number at these designated locations. Do not ask our staff to enter your Driveline number if you’re not in one of these areas. Driveline is color coded to inform children and teachers where you’re located.

  2. Do not try to skip the car line by parking behind parked cars in the parking lot. Either find a parking spot in the parking lot or along Traver Blvd or stay in the line and wait. Be patient and give yourself extra time.

  3. DO NOT park in the handicapped spots. We have families that need these spots to accommodate their children’s needs.

  4. Please load as quickly as possible. If you need extra time to get your child buckled, please park instead of using the pick up line.

  5. Please be nice to our staff! Everyone is doing their best to move families through the dismissal line as quickly as possible. If someone on our staff asks you to do something, please follow their directions.

No one likes these long lines (especially us!), but we’re doing our best to get everyone out quickly and safely. Please help accomplish this by following proper dismissal procedures.

NAAPID Reminder

Monday is our annual NAAPID celebration! NAAPID is the day we celebrate the importance of the role of parents in each child's education. This year, NAAPID will be on Monday, February 14, 20222. On this day, we invite all parents and adult family members to visit Logan Elementary virtually.  According to NAAPID founder, Joe Dulin " Education is the key to success and parents are educators' greatest allies."  Please consider joining your Logan Leopard’s class virtually for some portion of your day during NAAPID!

This year, we’re inviting parents into our classrooms via Zoom for many different shared experiences:

  • Students may share poems, writing, artwork, etc.

  • You may experience a shared read-aloud with the class

  • Parents may read, share about their career,  or share about their culture

  • You may experience math games with your student

Individual teachers will communicate classroom specific plans to their classes. We also created this document with zoom links so families can easily access their children’s classes. We’re still adding a few more links.

Early Release Reminder

Wednesday, February 16, 2022 is an Early Release Day. Students will be dismissed at 1:18pm. Lunch will be served prior to dismissal. Please make plans to have your child picked up from school early on Wednesday.

Extra Clothes in the Office

Winter weather means that we’ve been going through a lot of our loaner clothes in the office. If your child had to borrow an item of clothing from the office, please wash it and return it to Logan as soon as possible. Also, we’re in need of additional items. Specifically, we need:

  • Pants-sweatpants and leggings are ideal ( no jeans), size 7 and larger

  • Girls underwear, size 6 and larger (New, in the package)

  • Boys underwear, size 7 and larger (New, in the package)

  • Socks, all sizes

  • Mittens/Gloves

If you have any of these items, please consider donating them to Logan.

Young 5s/Kindergarten Round Up

We hosted our Young 5s/Kindergarten Round Up on Wednesday. If you or someone you know was unable to attend, we have a recording of the event posted on our website as well as other enrollment information. Feel free to share this information with any family you know that is considering sending their child to Logan next year.
