Dear Logan Families,
We have had a busy and very fun few weeks at Logan! We hosted the Talent Show, the Science Fair, and we have had several author visits and assemblies! We also celebrated Earth Day today thanks to our Student Council!
Congratulations to all of our incredible Talent Show performers! Everyone did such a great job.

M-STEP and NWEA Testing
Over the next several weeks, students in grades 3-5 will be completing the M-STEP assessments. All students will take the NWEA during the week of May 8. They will need their school-issued Chromebooks for these tests. Please be sure that your student brings their device, fully charged, on testing days. Due to additional demands on the school loaner computers, our ability to provide an additional computer to students who forget their computer will be extremely limited.
Arriving to School On Time
Thank you to everyone for your efforts to get your kids to school on time. I wanted to send one more reminder to the Logan community about the importance of arriving at school on time. Teachers start the day right away and when your child arrives late, they are missing important instruction. The first bell rings at 8:42 AM, the second bell rings at 8:45 AM, and instruction starts immediately after the second bell. Please do everything you can to bring your child to school on time.
Class Placement Parent Input Form - Last Opportunity to Provide Input
Each Spring, our staff works to create class lists for the next school year. We consider many factors when we are developing class lists including: academic and social factors, students who require additional support (ex: ELL, Special Education Services, Reading Intervention,) ethnicity, and gender. Additionally, we seek input from families to help inform our decisions. Please use the linked form to give us input about your child’s placement next year. ALL families in grades Y5-4 should complete the form. In addition to getting input about class placement, we gather information about who is returning and who is not. Please know that we value your input and want to hear from everyone. However, our primary obligation is to develop class lists that are balanced and will best serve ALL students. Therefore, we cannot guarantee any specific placements or requests.
AAPS Listen and Learn: Community Conversation
We value the input of our students, families, staff and community members, and we are currently engaging our Ann Arbor community in a conversation as we plan for the future of the Ann Arbor Public Schools. Through May 26th, you can join the conversation via the online ThoughtExchange here and learn more about Listen and Learn 2023 here.
