Dear Logan Families, 

Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! If you are new to our school community, my name is Will Wright, and I am the principal here at Logan. I’m so excited to welcome the Logan community back for a new school year, and I can’t wait to see everyone!

Below you’ll find information about the launch of our school year. I typically send a weekly newsletter to families on Mondays with important updates about our school and district. These newsletters are posted in a blog format, and I encourage families to bookmark the blog webpage. This format allows families to find all the information in one place without having to search through emails. A built-in translation feature also allows you to view the newsletter in any language. Just select your preferred language from the list on the right side of the page. I hope this tool is helpful to the Logan community. Please bookmark the page and visit it as frequently as you’d like. New Family Orientation

New to Logan? Please join us on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 3:45 PM for a New Family Orientation. We will tour the building, share key information about starting the year at Logan, and answer your questions. You'll also have time to meet other new families. Afterward, please stay and join the whole school community for our Welcome Back Meet and Greet.


Welcome Back Meet and Greet

Join us on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 4:30–5:30 PM on the Lower Elementary Playground (weather permitting). Come meet your child’s teachers, connect with new and returning families, and enjoy a delicious popsicle!

Class Placement Notification

Class placement notifications will be sent via email on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, in the evening. Please wait until Wednesday, August 20 to contact the Logan office if you do not receive your child’s placement email.

We take great care in creating balanced classes, considering many variables to ensure groupings that meet student needs. If you feel the need to discuss your child’s placement, I ask that all families complete the first two weeks of school before reaching out to me.


Introducing New Logan Staff

Logan’s staff remains largely unchanged, though we did experience some shifts over the summer. You’ll still see many familiar faces, along with a few new ones. This summer, we said farewell to:

  • Kristen Meier, Kindergarten Teacher

  • Jenny Ellis, Kindergarten Teacher

  • Mandie Schaft, Resource Room Teacher

Some have retired, and others have taken new positions. We wish them all the best in their next chapters!

Please join me in welcoming the following new staff members to Logan:

First Day of School

The first day of school is Monday, August 25, 2025. It will be a half-day, with dismissal at 11:50 AM.


New Bell Schedule for the 2025–2026 School Year

AAPS has made a slight adjustment to the bell schedule.

  • First bell: 8:47 AM

  • School begins: 8:50 AM

  • Student arrival time: No earlier than 8:43 AM

  • Early arrivals: Any student arriving before 8:43 AM must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

  • Breakfast: Students getting breakfast may enter the building at 8:30 AM.

  • Dismissal: 3:53 PM



PTSO Welcome Back Coffee

Families are invited to join us for a Welcome Back Coffee on the first day of school, Monday, August 25, immediately after drop-off. It’s a great opportunity to meet other families and connect with some of our PTSO representatives. We hope to see you there!

Families can review the district calendar on the district’s calendar page. Families can subscribe to Logan’s Community Calendar using this link. It is a Google calendar. We will be adding events to this calendar in the coming days. 



Free Breakfast & Lunch 2025–2026

Breakfast is available every morning to all students in the cafeteria—no advance ordering required. Typical options include cold cereal, bagels, cheese sticks, muffins, waffles, milk, and juice. Students may bring lunch from home or eat a school lunch. 

Menus are available online.
