Dear Logan Families,
What a great first day back with the kids! It was so nice to have them back in the building! Our teachers have hit the ground running, getting to know the students and building strong classroom communities that will set the foundation for a successful year ahead. I hope your kids came home today happy about their first day of school!
I also want to thank you for your patience during arrival and dismissal. You did a great job on our first day! I've included some key reminders below. Please take time to review them so we can keep things running smoothly.

Arrival and Dismissal Reminders
Thank you for a great first day! To help keep things running smoothly and safely, please review these key reminders. For complete details, visit our Family Handbook.
Important Reminders:
Do not park in the loop drive around the parking lot: The loop is for parent pick-up only. Drivers must remain in their cars and keep pulling forward all the way to the end.
Student loading happens after the crosswalk: Please pull all the way forward to prevent traffic from backing up onto Nixon Road.
Parking: Parents who wish to park may use the front parking lot or park on Traver Blvd. No one is allowed to park in the back parking lot. It is for staff only.
Always use the crosswalk. Do not cross between cars in the parent pick-up line. Everyone must cross at the designated crosswalk for safety.
Right turns only when exiting the parking lot: Left turns are not permitted, and AAPD does monitor this area.
Be patient! We do our best to get kids out quickly, but safety is our number one priority.
Listen to Logan staff during arrival and dismissal: We have lots of people outside helping to keep everyone safe. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Finally, expect dismissal to take a little longer for the first couple of weeks of school as we all get into our routine. We also anticipate late buses for the first few weeks as drivers figure out their routes. Thank you in advance for your patience!
AAPS Food Service 2026-27 School Year
All students will again receive a free breakfast or lunch meal for this school year.
All individual food items, such as milk, are not free to students. Students must pay for these individual items via the Meal Magic payment system.
Even though the State of Michigan continues to provide free breakfast and lunch meals for all students, it is important that every AAPS family fills out the Education Benefit Form (EBF), regardless of financial status. Filling out the EBF form helps AAPS maintain our current funding levels. We appreciate your assistance in filling out the EBF form.
Without this information from every family, AAPS could lose important state funding for educational programs that our students are entitled to. These supplemental grants and programs have the potential to offer supports and services for our students including, but not limited to:
✓ Instructional staff (ex. Reading Interventionists, Math, Academic and Behavior Aids)
✓ Counselors, Social Workers and School Nurses
✓ Professional Learning for staff
✓ Technology
What do I need to do?
Please complete the EBF form. You may fill out a paper form or complete the form online.
Important Notes:
✓ Include ALL students on one form, even if they attend different AAPS schools.
✓ If you completed the form online, do not fill out a paper copy. Contact Food Service to verify submission.
✓ For translations: visit a2schools.org
How do I submit my form? Choose one of the following methods:
1. Online: visit https://annarbor.familyportal.cloud, then click “Apply for Benefits”
2. In person: Return completed form to your student’s school.

Logan PTSO Has a NEW Website!
Our PTSO is excited to announce that our new website is up and running! Visit loganptso.membershiptoolkit.com to see everything your PTSO has to offer this year. On our new site, you can view upcoming calendar events, sign up to volunteer, pay dues and donations, and much more.
How to Get Started:
Go to loganptso.membershiptoolkit.com (or scan the QR code included in your welcome folder)
Click on the Log In button or the Registration button
If you already have an account with another organization that uses Membership Toolkit, you can use the same email and password to login
If you're new, select "Create Account" and fill in your name, email, and password information
Click "verify my email" and then check your email for a link to complete the process (the link expires in 2 hours—if you don't receive the email, check your spam or junk folders)
Once you've verified your email address, log back in and finish the registration process by completing:

Directory/Publish Preferences
Support the PTSO with your Dues and Donation contribution (optional)
Note: Once the Primary Account is set up, the Primary User can "invite" other email addresses to access the family account. This allows a Secondary User to have their own login information while still having access to the family account.

Reduce Idling in School Zones Beginning Fall 2026
The Ann Arbor Public Schools supports the reduction of idling on our school campuses. Through the leadership of the Freeman Environmental Youth Council, AAPS is instituting a Reduce Idling Zone at all AAPS schools starting this fall.
This initiative is aimed at protecting our students’ health. Please help our students breathe cleaner air by following the guidelines below, especially at pick-up when we see vehicles waiting up to an hour before release time.
Turn off your vehicle engine when waiting at the school drop-off and pick-up line.
Drop-off: When dropping off your student, if you arrive and there is a line of vehicles waiting for the first bell, please turn off your vehicle until cars proceed through the line.
Pick-up: If you arrive before the bell to release students and join the pick-up line, please turn off your vehicle until the line begins to move.
Make an effort to park and walk to pick up your student(s) instead of waiting in the drop-off and pick-up line.
Consider sharing rides and carpooling with other families.
Walk or bike to school, if possible.
Use the school busing system, if eligible.
Each choice helps reduce pollution around our schools and directly improves our students’ experience on the school campus.
Look for the signs!
Working together we can create a healthier environment for all AAPS students.
