You’re Invited to our NAAPID Celebration
Each year, AAPS celebrates NAAPID across the district. NAAPID stands for National African American Parent Involvement Day, and it was started by Joseph Dulin who was a longtime principal in the Ann Arbor Public Schools. You can learn more about NAAPID here. In the past, Logan has invited ALL families to join us for a day of learning. Because of this pandemic, we’re obviously going to have to do things a little differently, but we are excited to keep this tradition alive. Here are the plans.
- Parents are invited to read a story in your child’s class during the week of February 8 (and possible beyond depending on how many families want to read). Your child’s teacher will be reaching out to families with invitations to schedule a visit.
- Join us for an assembly on February 8 at 1:00pm. We’ll be celebrating Black History Month with a reading of The Undefeated by Kwame Alexander. Students will share facts about some of the historical figures featured in this text. We’ll also have a special message of gratitude for our Logan families. We hope you can make it. Links will be shared later in the week.
