Dear Logan Families,

Last week was a busy week at Logan! We celebrated Pi(e) Day on Thursday and hosted the Disability Awareness Workshop for our fourth graders on Friday. Both events were great successes! Thank you to all of our volunteers. Events like these would not be possible without you!

In this Weekly Update, I’ve included information about:

  • 2024 LaFontaine Teacher of the Year

  • My Future Fund - Time to Jump Start College Savings

  • Logan Bake Sale - CANCELED

  • In-District Transfer (IDT) Window Now Open

  • Important Upcoming Dates

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. And don’t forget to visit the PTSO eBackpack blog linked in the Useful Links section.

Sincerely,

Will Wright

2024 LaFontaine Teacher of the Year

Nominations are being accepted for the 2024 LaFontaine Teacher of the Year through Thursday, March 21st. The Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti Regional Chamber and LaFontaine Automotive Group are looking to identify from among many outstanding teachers from across Washtenaw County to serve as a visible and vocal representative of what is best in the profession. Click here for more information and to nominate a teacher.

My Future Fund - Time to Jump Start College Savings

If your student is in 1st through 6th grade, be sure to complete the My Future Fund Release of Information Form by March 19th to be included in the next round of deposits. This is a free program for our students to get a jump start on saving for college and career training. Most students will be automatically enrolled unless they opt out. Some students may be eligible for an additional $475 based on family income. Please visit www.myfuturefund.org for more information.

Logan Bake Sale - CANCELED

Families received a communication about a Bake Sale coordinated by Logan’s Student Council recently. We have decided to cancel this event. If the event is rescheduled for later in the year, we will communicate the new time and date with families.

In-District Transfer (IDT) Window Now Open

IDT applications are being accepted from February 26 - March 29. IDT is for families that live within the boundaries of the Ann Arbor Public School district but would like to attend a school that is not their zoned school. More information on In-District Transfers can be found here

Families who are currently enrolled at Logan do not need to apply. Only families who wish to attend a different school would need to apply. If you know any families who live outside our attendance area and wish to enroll at Logan, please let them know the IDT window is now open.

***Fifth grade families who are currently enrolled at Logan under a School of Choice enrollment  or an In-District Transfer enrollment will need to apply for IDT to attend Clague if Clague is not your home school and you wish for your child to go there next year.
