Dear Logan Families,
Last week, Logan students had the exciting opportunity to meet Calvin Sims, author of The Back Flip. Mr. Sims spoke with our students about important themes from his book, including perseverance and honesty. He also shared stories about being an athlete and the kids loved asking him questions about his life. Thank you to the Logan PTSO for organizing this event and helping make it possible for our students to connect with a real author!

Food Support at Logan for Families During Uncertain Times - Donations Needed
With the current government shutdown, there is concern that SNAP benefits, which many families rely on for food assistance, may be delayed or temporarily unavailable. To support our school community during this time, we are organizing a food drive to help ensure every family has access to nutritious food.
If you are able, please consider donating non-perishable food items. Every contribution, big or small, makes a meaningful difference for our neighbors in need.
Suggested Donations:
Canned vegetables and fruits
Canned beans and soups
Peanut butter
Rice, pasta, and sandwich bread
Boxed cereals and oatmeal
Shelf-stable milk or milk alternatives
Cooking oils and sauces
Granola bars and healthy snacks
*We will also take donations of paper and plastic bags.
Any family in need will be welcome to visit our pantry. Simply come to the school office and let our staff know you would like to access the pantry. You will be warmly welcomed and invited to take whatever you need.
Our goal is to keep the pantry well-stocked for as long as this shutdown continues, so we can continue supporting our community through these challenging times.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity. Together, we can support each other and keep our community strong.
Join Us for Beats and Treats!
Logan Elementary's Beats & Treats Fall Social is happening this Thursday, October 30! The event will be held on the lower elementary playground (weather permitting and in the cafeteria and gym if it is raining) from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Join us for an evening of family fun, including a dance party, games, donuts, cider, pizza, and Trick or Treating tables. Costumes are welcome but not required. All games, food, and dancing are FREE (paid for by the Logan PTSO)!
We still need volunteers to help make this event a success. Please consider signing up using this Sign-Up Genius link.
Crossing Guard Opportunity
The Ann Arbor Police Department is currently seeking a dedicated crossing guard to help keep Logan and Clague students safe as they cross Nixon to get to Clague and Traver Blvd to get to Logan. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a positive impact in our community while enjoying a flexible part-time role.
If you or someone you know is interested in this important position, please consider applying! The Ann Arbor Police Department is managing the hiring process and will have a temporary guard in place starting next Monday.
