Dear Logan Families,

Welcome back! I hope you had a wonderful and restful spring break with your families. It's hard to believe it's April! Before we left for break, we were treated to an amazing Logan Talent Show on Wednesday evening. Congratulations to all of our talented performers. You did a fantastic job sharing your talents with our community! Thank you to our PTSO for putting on another wonderful event.

We also had a special visit from members of the University of Michigan African Studies department, who taught our students about the rich cultures, histories, and traditions of both West and East Africa countries. Our students were engaged and enthusiastic learners!

We're excited to dive into the final stretch of the school year. I've updated our Important Upcoming Dates section with events and milestones through the end of the year, so be sure to check it out for all the details ahead!

In this Weekly Update, I’ve included important information about:

  • Thank You from Student Council

  • Upcoming M-STEP Testing

  • Matzah During Passover - Reminder

  • Family Traditions and Heritage Festival Sign Up

  • Important Upcoming Dates

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,
Will Wright

Thank You from Student Council

Thank you to our Logan Community who contributed to the food drive by donating nonperishable items and making monetary contributions. Logan provided over 3,000 meals to our families fighting against hunger. Student Council appreciates all the support in making this a success!

Upcoming M-STEP Testing

Logan students begin M-STEP testing next week. Between April 13 and May 15, third, fourth, and fifth grade students will complete required grade level testing. Please refer to classroom communications to learn specific dates for when your child will test. Please do your best to have your child at school on testing days to minimize the need for make-up tests. Families will receive results from these tests next fall.

Matzah During Passover - Reminder

AAPS is pleased to offer matzah for our students who observe Passover April 6 - 9, 2026. Matzah will be available upon request in the cafeteria during lunch to replace bread/yeast products served to students.

The matzah meets USDA requirements, and provides meaningful support to students and families observing Passover.

Please don't hesitate to share your thoughts with Mike Devries, Chartwells Manager at devriesm@aaps.k12.mi.us or Liz Margolis, Executive Director, School Safety & District Operations at margolisl@aaps.k12.mi.us.
