IMPORTANT-  LOGAN TRAFFIC PATTERN CHANGES - STARTING MARCH 30, 2026.

Starting March 30, 2026 Traver Blvd. at Nixon Rd. will be closed due to the City of Ann Arbor's road construction project on Nixon Rd.

Beginning Monday, March 30, 2026  through late summer 2026,, the City of Ann Arbor will close Nixon Rd. between Bluett Dr. and Traver Blvd. including access to Traver Blvd. We anticipate that Bluett Rd. to Traver will be opened again for the start of next school year.

The recommended detours include Plymouth Rd. to Huron Parkway to Traver Blvd. or from the north via Barton Dr. to Traver Blvd.

The closure at Nixon Rd. and Traver Blvd. will  change the usual traffic patterns for morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. Families should plan for additional travel time and follow posted detour signs. Bus routes will also be impacted. We will share bus route information later this week and post the adjusted bus route schedules on Logan’s website.

Cars and buses will be entering Logan via a left turn into the driveway. During dismissal, some cars can use the u-turn at the end of Traver and continue to line up along Traver. Once those spaces are taken, families will need to park and walk to the school. Please do not block driveways or use Meade Ct. as a drop-off and pick-up location as this is a private drive.

We strongly encourage families at pick-up to park in the neighborhood on city streets and walk to Logan to get your student. We also hope you will consider carpooling or walking when possible to minimize the number of cars at Logan.

Sidewalk access will be maintained but students will not be able to cross at Nixon Rd.

This is a city of Ann Arbor project. You can find more information here: https://engage.a2gov.org/nixon-project

We appreciate everyone’s patience and remind everyone to drive carefully and plan for extra time in the morning and afternoon.

Matzah During Passover

AAPS is pleased to offer matzah for our students who observe Passover April 6 - 9, 2026. Matzah will be available upon request in the cafeteria during lunch to replace bread/yeast products served to students.

The matzah meets USDA requirements, and provides meaningful support to students and families observing Passover.

Please don't hesitate to share your thoughts with Mike Devries, Chartwells Manager at devriesm@aaps.k12.mi.us or Liz Margolis, Executive Director, School Safety & District Operations at margolisl@aaps.k12.mi.us.

Gretchen's House Parking Lot - Please Do Not Use for Logan Drop-Off/Pick-Up

We received a request from Gretchen’s House asking us to remind families not use their parking lot for Logan student drop-off or pick-up. The Gretchen’s House parking lot is only for Gretchen’s House families.

Logan families are welcome to:

  • Park on neighborhood city streets and walk to Logan

  • Use the Logan parking lot and driveway during designated times

  • Carpool or walk when possible to reduce traffic, especially with the upcoming Nixon Road construction project.

Class Placement Parent Input Form - FINAL WEEK

Each Spring, our staff works to create class lists for the next school year. We consider many factors when we are developing class lists including: academic and social factors, students who require additional support (ex: ELL, Special Education Services, Reading Intervention,) ethnicity, and gender. Additionally, we seek input from families to help inform our decisions. Please use the linked form  to give us input about your child’s placement next year. ALL families in grades Y5-4 should complete the form. In addition to getting input about class placement, we gather information about who is returning and who is not. Please know that we value your input and want to hear from everyone.  However, our primary obligation is to develop class lists that are balanced and will best serve ALL students.  Therefore, we cannot guarantee any specific placements or requests. Please submit your input by March 27.
