Dear Logan Families,
Welcome back! I hope you had a restful spring break! We welcomed our young 5s, kindergarten, and self-contained students back into the building prior to break, and today we’re thrilled to see some of our first and second grade students as well! So far, everything is running smoothly, and it is so great seeing children in the building again.
In my Weekly Update this week, I’ve included information about:
- Logan Bus Routes
- Term 2 Report Cards
- Asynchronous Learning Days Reminder
- New Specials Schedule
- AAPS Enrollment Windows
- Mark Your Calendar
- Helpful Links on the AAPS Website
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Sincerely,
Will Wright
Logan Bus Routes
Our transportation department has posted all bus routes online. You can find Logan’s bus routes here.
Term 2 Report Cards
Term 2 report cards will be sent home electronically this Friday. Special education progress reports will be mailed directly to families through the USPS.
Asynchronous Learning Days Reminder
As a reminder, the three days prior to your child’s grade-level return to school will be asynchronous. These days are for the purpose of allowing teachers time to set up their classroom and receive professional development prior to students returning. Stage 3 children (grades 3 – 5) will return to school beginning on Monday, April 12th. Therefore, their asynchronous days will be this week on Wednesday, April 7, Thursday, April 8 and Friday, April 9.
New Specials Schedule
With the launch of hybrid learning, we have adjusted our specials schedule. We began the new schedule today. Hybrid students will attend specials on the days that they’re at home. Fully virtual students have been assigned to attend specials with either the Monday/Tuesday hybrid cohort or the Thursday/Friday hybrid cohort. Teachers have already communicated these changes to students and families. If you have any questions about your child’s schedule, please contact your child’s teacher.
A special note to families in grades 3-5: As stated above, Wednesday through Friday will be asynchronous for all students in grades 3-5. However, specials will still occur live and synchronously. Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you’re unsure about your child’s schedule this week so they know when to log in for specials.
AAPS Enrollment Windows
Enrollment for 2021-22 opens on March 16. Please help us spread the word. Families who live in our attendance area can enroll at any time. The enrollment window for in-district transfer applicants open March 16 and closes April 5 at 5:00pm. The school-of-choice window is not yet open. If you’re the parent of a fifth grader and you are enrolled at Logan through in-district transfer or school of choice, you must apply for in-district transfer to send your child to Clague (or any other AAPS middle school program outside of your attendance area). All Young 5s students will be automatically enrolled in Logan kindergarten. Parents of Young 5s students should inform the office if you do not plan on sending your child to Logan next year.
