Dear Logan Families,
I hope you all enjoyed the long holiday weekend! We had a great start to the school year with our opening assembly last Thursday. Students were welcomed in ten different languages, including many spoken in our community, along with greetings in sign language and through an augmentative communication device. Together we read All Are Welcome, and every staff member introduced themselves to the students. We closed the assembly with our annual flag-raising ceremony, proudly led by our student safeties.
It was a wonderful first week of school, and I’m so proud of how quickly students have settled into their new routines and are already diving into their learning. This week’s update includes important reminders about transportation, volunteer opportunities, and upcoming events. Little Free Library Repair Volunteer Needed
Our Little Free Library, located near the front of the school, has brought joy to many students and families who love stopping by to grab or share a book. Unfortunately, the door was damaged over the summer and needs repair. We are looking for a volunteer with woodworking or carpentry experience who would be willing to help us fix it so the library can continue to serve our community. If you are interested in lending a hand, please reach out to Mr. Wright at wrightw@aaps.k12.mi.us
Rec & Ed Before Care for Logan Students in Fall 2025
Attention Logan families! Rec & Ed is now offering Before Care service to Logan families.Logan students can join our morning program starting at 7:15am until school begins. Students will also have breakfast before they go off to school! There is still space available, if you are interested please call 734-994-2300 ext 53253 to register your student. You can email aapschildcare@aaps.k12.mi.us if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing your students soon!
Friends Riding Home on Buses
AAPS has updated its transportation policy, and students are no longer able to ride home with a friend on a different bus. This district-wide change was made to help keep all students safe and to make sure there is enough room for everyone on their assigned route. If there is an emergency, exceptions can be made with approval from the school principal. For playdates or after-school plans, we encourage families to connect at parent pick-up instead.
